What constitutes inappropriate use that will result in automatic service shut-down?

  • Systematic downloading of content, whether done manually or by technological means is prohibited.
    • APA reserves the right to determine the speed and quantity that constitute “systematic downloading” and will enforce such terms of use by automatically disabling your (or your institution’s) download functions.
    • To report service shut-down, send an email to: psycinfo@apa.org.

What other uses are disallowed?

  • You may not place any parts of any publication on an open web site, such as your personal page.
  • You may not systematically distribute the whole or any part of APA content.
  • You may not systematically make print or electronic copies of content.
  • You may not text or data mine APA data without permission from the APA Permissions Office.
  • You may not incorporate contents in a print or DVD version of a course pack without permission from the APA Permissions Office.
  • You may not modify content or create a derivative work without written permission from the APA Permissions Office.
  • You may not remove, obscure, or modify any copyright or other notices in the content.
